JOB REQUIREMENTS: This position assists the Chief Medical Examiner in
managing administrative functions within the Office of Medical Examiner
(OME). Responsibilities include providing leadership on operational and
administrative matters, utilizing data and trend analysis techniques to
address challenges, and engaging in public health initiatives, studies,
projects, and strategic planning. The role will contribute to the
development and implementation of new policies, procedures, and process
enhancements. The Business Manager will carry out a range of complex
administrative tasks, including offering technical expertise and
formulating both long-term and short-term planning initiatives, as well
as establishing overall goals, objectives, and priorities. Essential
Duties Assists the Chief Medical Examiner in the administration and
management of the office, including but not limited to payroll,
budgetary functions, human resources functions, and various secretarial
duties. Compose, prepare, transcribe, process and/or review a variety of
written documents, policies and procedures, and public correspondence.
Interact with the public in an effective and courteous manner, including
media requests, while maintaining the proper amount of situational
confidentiality. Administers and tracks contracts, prepares procurement
documents to solicit new contracts, and/or renews existing contracts,
along with deadlines of budgets, documentation, or other communications.
Work with both the investigations and morgue supervisors on at least a
monthly basis regarding supplies or basic needs, and order additional
supplies as needed. Collaborates with other agencies on grant writing
and community health projects. Attending meetings as directed; take
notes and provide follow-up action correspondence, including supervisory
meetings involving departmental performance. Participates in ongoing
mass fatality planning and disaster management. Perform other related

statutes and privileges and exceptions provided by all to ensure
confidentiality in distribution of information to outside agencies and
