INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ADMINISTRATOR:

As we continue to evolve and meet the technological demands of modern public safety, we are seeking a skilled Information Technology Administrator to join our team and support our mission with robust IT infrastructure and solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Bainbridge Island Fire Department, where we empower our staff to promote fire and life safety for everyone who works, visits, and lives on Bainbridge Island.
Position Overview:
The IT Administrator is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving IT-related issues, managing the Department network infrastructure, and working with vendors to ensure IT systems are up to date and working efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and a thorough understanding of information technology, including hardware, software and networking.
Security of all Department technology and adhering to HIPAA regulations is a requirement given the sensitive nature of confidential information collected and utilized by the Department in its emergency response operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Administration: Manage, maintain, and upgrade hardware, software, networks, and servers.
- Technical Support: Provide hands-on technical support for staff across multiple locations, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Cybersecurity: Monitor network security, implement best practices, and manage firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Data Backup & Recovery: Ensure regular data backups and develop disaster recovery plans.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with external IT vendors and service providers.
- System Monitoring: Proactively monitor systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Training: Provide basic IT training and technical guidance to staff as needed.
