The purpose of this class is to assist in the development of the annual County budget and assist other county personnel in creating department budgets.The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Assist in the development of the county’s annual budget.
Assist in the preparation of the annual Budget Book for submission to the Government Finance Officers Association for the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.
Assists in the review of budget submissions for completeness and accuracy.
Assists in the preparation of budget amendments.
Assists in the review of departmental contracts.
Assists in the analysis of accounts for budgetary purposes.
Assists in the preparation of financial and statistical reports.
Assist in reviewing and compiling performance measures, including workload efficiency and effectiveness measurements, benchmarks and standards.
Assists in analyzing department budgets to maintain expenditure controls.
Assist in monitoring and verifying employee work hours for payroll accuracy.
Ensure time entries comply with company policies and labor laws (e.g., overtime, breaks).
Assists to review and resolve discrepancies in time reports or errors in payroll data.
Assists in the monitoring and tracking of work performed under interlocal agreements to ensure accurate reimbursement.
Ensure all required documentation (e.g., work hours, expenses) is collected and submitted for reimbursement claims.
Performs related work as assigned.Requires two years of experience in budget management, auditing, government accounting, general finance operations or closely related experience.Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.
The work is typically performed sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects.
