PAY AND BENEFITS
Annual Pay Range: $87,447.48 - $110,710.34
Hourly Pay Range: $42.042059 - $53.226127
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position. This position is classified as a Senior Community Relations Specialist.

JOB DETAILS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Clackamas County's Department of Public & Government Affairs seeks a dynamic and creative Senior Digital Content Specialist to join our Communications team. In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape and enhance how the county connects with our community through social media, web content, and other digital platforms. Your passion for storytelling, digital communication, and making an impact will be instrumental in our mission. Under the direction of the Communications Supervisor, the Senior Digital Content Specialist will be at the forefront of our digital outreach efforts. You will be key in managing our social media platforms, developing compelling content, and ensuring our digital channels effectively communicate county messages and goals. You will also help maintain and grow the county's website and support various public engagement strategies. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, is proactive in their approach, and is eager to bring fresh ideas to the table.
You will also manage content for the county's social media platforms, create engaging messages to promote county initiatives, and serve as the administrator of our digital channels. Your responsibilities will include providing analytics to measure branding effectiveness, maintaining style guidelines, and ensuring ADA compliance on our website. Our next Senior Digital Content Specialist will develop and edit digital content for websites and emails, produce "ClackCo Monthly," and assist in implementing communication tactics for inclusive public engagement. Additionally, you will handle special projects and act as a backup to the county's Public Information Officer when needed.
Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
• At minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in communication, marketing, and/or and public information programs, that would provide the required knowledge and skills to perform the responsibilities of this position
• At least one (1) year of that experience must have included managing social media in a business setting
• Experience in digital content management
• Experience working with various media content and outlets, including social media platforms
• Strong writing skills
Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Proficiency in Google Analytics 4
• Experience with digital photography and video
• Experience with crisis communication and managing sensitive information in a public setting
• Familiarity with video production and editing tools, such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro
• Experience designing and executing digital advertising campaigns, including pay-per-click (PPC) and social media ads
• Knowledge of accessibility standards for digital content beyond website ADA compliance, such as social media accessibility features
• Experience using email marketing platforms like Mailchimp or Constant Contact to create and manage newsletters
• Proficiency with design software such as Adobe Photoshop for creating social media and web graphics
• Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple communication initiatives simultaneously
Pre-Employment Requirements:
• Driving is required for County business on a regular basis or to accomplish work. TYPICAL TASKS
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
• Analyze, develop, and present innovative approaches to developing communication strategies to reach and engage the public.
• Working closely with staff and other subject matter experts, to develop and execute multi-channel communication plans. Develop and implement strategic planning and evaluation of communication and marketing activities.
• Write, edit and collaborate with graphic artists, web and video producers to develop and disseminate a range of communication materials.
• Provide editorial and writing support for all digital content.
• Develop and maintain county web content.
• Develop and manage county social media platforms and content.
• Contribute to the development of marketing and public involvement concepts for effective representation of county projects.
• Act as a backup to the county's public information officer, when required.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position is included in the County's alternate workweek program, working 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Thursday (Fridays off). Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended. The exact amount of on-site/telework and schedule will be discussed with the hiring manager during time of offer. Telework locations cannot be located outside of Oregon or Washington.
