Job Summary
This is a recruitment pool for an Instructor (part-time) to teach within the Information Support and Services Pathway in courses such as IT Fundamentals and A+ Certification. Students may include high school and/or Adult students. Qualified candidates will need to hold or be eligible for the Career Technical Education (CTE) credential under the Information and Communication Technologies industry sector. Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday from 4:30pm - 7:00pm. Under the direction of an Instructional Administrator, a Regional Occupational Program (ROP) instructor provides instruction to secondary school or adult students in competency-based, career technical education courses in order to prepare them for college and career. ROP classes are taught by instructors who have trained and worked in the industry they are teaching. Once hired, instructors must enter a teacher credential program and ROP provides additional training and coaching support. Many ROP classes provide real-world experience by placing students in work-based learning. Teaching Credential: * Three (3) years of industry work experience directly related to the "Information and Communication Technologies" (for Credential eligibility). * Applicant with High School diploma. * Teaching Credential: The successful candidate must qualify for or possess a California Career Technical Education (CTE) or Designated Subjects Teaching Credential: Information Technologies. NOCROP will assist you in starting the credentialing process. Detailed information for obtaining a Designated Subjects Career Technical Education credential may be found at https://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/leaflets/designated-subjects-(cl-888). In addition, qualified candidates will need knowledge and skills in the following: • Operational characteristics of a variety of computer systems, applications, hardware, software, and peripheral equipment. • LAN/WAN protocols, routing equipment, and wiring systems. • Principles and practices of troubleshooting LAN/WAN hardware and software problems. • Principles and practices of LAN/WAN architecture, cyber security, servers, databases, operating systems, networks, TCP/IP protocols, analysis and related technologies. • Enterprise-level hardware and software system requirements. • Networking protocols such as DHCP, TCP/IP, etc. • Help desk/technical support software for incident reporting and tracking. • Methods and techniques of Structured Query Language (SQL), reporting and analytics tools. • Methods and techniques used to provide specifications, design, develop, test, and implement applications. • Methods and techniques of evaluating business requirements and developing information systems solutions. • Principles and practices of quality assurance techniques and testing. • Principles and practices of programming languages.
Qualifications
