Summary Objective
The City of Riviera Beach seeks an experienced and dynamic Communications and Marketing Director to lead our Communications and Marketing Team, managing all City public communications, including Channel 18, RBTV YouTube, social media channels, and the Riviera Beach Magazine. Reporting to the City Manager, this senior-level position is responsible for developing and executing strategies that enhance public engagement and strengthen Riviera Beach's image through effective messaging, content creation, and crisis communications. As the principal spokesperson, the Director will represent the City at public and media events, sometimes outside traditional business hours. This individual will oversee a talented team of Public Information Officers, a Multimedia Supervisor, Webmaster and a Communications Specialist, guiding all production and written content while collaborating with Police and Fire Departments to ensure accurate public safety messaging. A Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field is preferred, along with proven leadership experience, excellent writing and speaking skills, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, journalism, public administration, communications, marketing or related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in marketing and communications, public or media relations or public information; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Two (2) years of management or supervisory experience; is required.
A valid Florida driver's license is required.
