Physical Fitness Evaluation (Cadet only): The Stephenville Police Department & Tarrant County College Northwest Law Enforcement Academy are using standards similar to those adopted by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The Texas DPS Row Test Protocols uses the Concept 2 Rower. There is no minimum standard to achieve during this evaluation, it is used as a baseline for the academy. This assessment is used throughout the academy to measure a cadet's progress.

Getting Started:

Licensed Police Officer/Lateral Transfer: The FTO Supervisor (Field Training Officer) will complete your FTO schedule and you will start the FTO process. Cadets: Our cadets are assigned to the Tarrant County College Northwest Law Enforcement Academy. This training lasts up to 25 weeks and academies start approximately every 3 months. Following the successful completion of the academy cadets become licensed peace officers and then begin field training which lasts between 18 and 20 weeks.
