Once you complete the Personal History Statement, you will need to return it to the Stephenville Police Department via mail or in-person to continue in the hiring process.

Failure to complete any of these forms (City Application/Pre-Screen and Personal History Statement) in the prescribed timeline will result in you being disqualified from the hiring process. After reviewing these documents, if you are chosen to move forward these will be the next steps in the process.

Physical Fitness Evaluation (Cadet only): The Stephenville Police Department & Tarrant County College Northwest Law Enforcement Academy are using standards similar to those adopted by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The Texas DPS Row Test Protocols uses the Concept 2 Rower. There is no minimum standard to achieve during this evaluation, it is used as a baseline for the academy. This assessment is used throughout the academy to measure a cadet's progress.

Getting Started:

Licensed Police Officer/Lateral Transfer: The FTO Supervisor (Field Training Officer) will complete your FTO schedule and you will start the FTO process. Lateral officers go through a shortened FTO program. Successful completion of the FTO Program will result in you being released as a solo officer.
Cadets: Our cadets are assigned to the Tarrant County College Northwest Law Enforcement Academy. This training lasts up to 25 weeks and academies start approximately every 3 months. Following the successful completion of the academy cadets become licensed peace officers and then begin field training which lasts between 18 and 20 weeks.
