Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Chief Financial Officer at Zepama Technology LLC. The role allows for remote work. The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, providing strategic financial input, and leading the finance team. The CFO will also be involved in financial planning, budgeting, and financial reporting.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is to play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and scalability of Zepama, from its current bootstrapping phase to achieving a global footprint. The CFO will provide strategic direction, implement efficient financial systems, and manage funding and compliance while aligning Zepama's financial strategy with its mission to empower communities.

Role of the CFO

The CFO will oversee financial strategy, management, and growth planning, ensuring the efficient use of resources while creating a sustainable economic model for Zepama. She/he will work closely with me the Founder, The CEO and other C-suite executives to secure funding, manage Zepacoins and our 6 other tokens and drive Zepama’s profitability.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Financial Planning and Budget Management
- Bootstrap Phase:
- See where our lean resources has gotten us so far, develop an operational budget to maximize the impact of each sprint ready for investment from angels and international grants with demonstration of best best use of limited resources.
- Prioritize spending for MVP development, ZepaSneakers, ZepaTel R&D - prototypes, marketing, and go-to-market.
- Establish KPIs to monitor financial efficiency in the bootstrapping phase.

- Growth Phase:
- Expand the budget to support scaling of ZepaStops, ZepaTel, and gamified community challenges.
- Allocate resources for blockchain integration and partnerships.
- Forecast long-term financial needs for scaling across regions and industries.

2. Fundraising and Investor Relations
- Bootstrap Phase:
- Develop and present compelling financial models to attract pre-seed funding (target: up to $3M at pre-money valuation)
- Pitch to angel investors, venture capitalists, and government programs interested in fintech, blockchain, and health innovation.
- Growth Phase:
- Lead seed and Series A fundraising rounds, targeting institutional investors and more
- Secure partnerships with impact investors who align with Zepama’s mission of financial empowerment.
- Build relationships with private equity firms and global fintech accelerators.

3. Zepacoins and our 7 token model Blockchain Economics
- Design and implement Zepacoins' tokenomics model which I have already created but he/she will, ensure sustainability, emphasizing user-driven liquidity.
- Collaborate with blockchain developers to manage staking, reward distribution, and Zepacoins' integration with ZepaStops.
- Conduct periodic audits of Zepacoins and the whole model to maintain transparency and investor confidence.
- Analyze and optimize transaction fees, ensuring affordability for Zepama users. Must leverage on gasless wallets.

4. Revenue Streams and Monetization
- Oversee the development of revenue models for ZepaStops in collaboration with the CPO, including:
- Subscription models for businesses that have ZepaStops integrated.
- Transaction fees for purchases made using Zepacoins.
- Commission structures for partnerships with local and global businesses.
- Ensure pricing strategies for Zepama’s wearable devices (e.g., ZepaSneakers, ZepaWatch) are profitable and accessible. A model is available already, it just needs refining.
- Explore revenue opportunities through white-labeling Zepama’s gamification and event-tracking technology.

5. Financial Systems and Compliance
- Bootstrap Phase:
- Implement simple yet effective financial management tools to track expenses, revenues, and investments.
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws and accounting standards in Nigeria and globally depending on regions we choose to enter.
- Growth Phase:
- Scale financial systems to accommodate international operations and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee compliance with global cryptocurrency regulations and anti-money laundering (AML) laws.
- Manage tax implications for international partnerships and blockchain transactions.

6. Risk Management
- Assess and mitigate financial risks related to cryptocurrency volatility, market competition, and regulatory changes.
- Develop contingency plans for unforeseen challenges in scaling or fundraising.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure operational stability during growth phases.

7. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with the CTO to align financial resources with technical development priorities.
- Work with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to allocate budgets for marketing campaigns and user acquisition strategies.
- Partner with the Chief Partnership Officer (CPO) to structure financial terms for deals with ZepaStops, fitness brands, HMOs, and government entities.
- Support the CEO in presenting financial updates to stakeholders and aligning the team on financial goals.

Milestones for the CFO
- 0-3 Months:
- Secure pre-seed funding and establish financial systems.
- Develop tokenomics and revenue-sharing models for Zepacoins and ZepaStops.
- Draft financial models for MVP scaling and wearable production.

- 3-12 Months:
- Oversee fundraising for the next funding round (seed).
- Scale financial systems to manage ZepaSneakers production and blockchain rewards distribution.
- Begin monetizing partnerships with ZepaStops and corporate clients.

- 12-24 Months:
- Prepare for Series A funding, targeting $100M-$300M post-money valuation.
- Support global expansion through optimized financial systems and compliance.
- Achieve profitability for core components (ZepaStops, wearables, Step Evolution Game).

Key Attributes of the CFO
- Strong expertise in traditional + blockchain-based finance and revenue models.
- Proven track record in fundraising and managing startup finances.
- Familiarity with cryptocurrency regulation and global fintech trends.
- Ability to balance short-term bootstrapping needs with long-term financial growth.

By strategically managing Zepama’s finances, the CFO will own equity as he/she plays the central role in transforming Zepama from an early-stage startup into a global leader in gamified financial and fitness ecosystems.
