The County of Ellis seeks a passionate, self-motivated servant-leader devoted to the residents of Ellis County to serve as its next County Engineer.
Under limited direction of the Commissioners Court, this position is re-sponsible for providing engineering recommendations and expert advice related to road and drainage improvements, capital improvements, and other initiatives set forth by the Commissioners Court.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university, preference in civil or hydrology, is required. A mas¬ter’s degree is preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible management experience in the field of civil engineering, including at least five (5) years of which were as a Director, Assistant Director, division manager, or equivalent.
Candidate must be a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, and Certified Floodplain Manager license is required (or the ability to obtain one within six months). A valid Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is also required.

The County is offering a highly competitive salary range of up to $144,765, depending on qualifications and experience.
