Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Two years of experience in the receipt, storage, and inventory of materials to include experience operating materials handling equipment are required. Completion of college coursework may substitute for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis.

This position works in the receipt, storage and distribution of various shelter commodities and the maintenance of control records. Incumbents within this classification are responsible for the department's storeroom and off-site storage facilities. This position entails receiving, coding, storing, and issuing items; posting, balancing and auditing inventory records; receive and transmit purchase request and maintain status of purchase requisitions plus all related records in various specialized commodity groupings such as pet food, pet supplies, office supplies, equipment, cleaning products, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies; checking deliveries by vendors against requisitions for correctness and completeness. This position will also work with computer applications to include excel, word and inventory programs.
