Develops, organizes, and implements programs to promote and market the Community Activity Center and the Parks and Recreation Department.• Creates a variety of marketing pieces promoting all aspects of the Community Activity Center, including programs, memberships, rentals, and special events, through multiple print and electronic media platforms.
- Supervises the Community Activity Center building during regular weekly shifts.
- Assists with supervision of tot drop, concessions, and front desk areas, including part-time staff.
- Develops and implements programs designed to enhance the Community Activity Center sales and memberships.
- Supervises and organizes all facility rentals and birthday parties including phone calls, tours, booking, staffing, and event follow-up.
- Works as a system administrator to the Parks and Recreation Services Department's registration software.
- Leads and demonstrates high quality customer service and assists with the operation of the front desk.
- Assists in the budgeting process, including purchasing of supplies and reconciliation of credit card purchases.
- Assists with the implementation of other Parks and Recreation programs as needed.
- Informs supervisor of all work-related activities.
- Adheres to the personnel, safety, and departmental policies and procedures of the Town.
- Assists co-workers and other departments as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation, Physical Education, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business, or related field is required.
- Must have a valid state issued driver's license and driving record must be in compliance with Town policy.
Work Experience
- In lieu of degree, must have six (6) years of experience as a Recreation Coordinator, Programs Coordinator, Special Events Coordinator, or related position.
Skills
Must submit to and pass a post-offer, non-regulated drug test and thorough background checks (including criminal history).KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Must have experience with design software, including Adobe Creative Suite products.
- Must have excellent leadership, organizational, training and communicative skills, both oral and written.
- Must maintain an effective and pleasant working relationship with citizens, the general public, employees, and volunteers.
- Must be able to work various hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
Physical Abilities
- Must be able to talk, see, hear, write, read, and work in adverse environmental conditions.
- Must be able to perform strenuous physical activities to include running, kneeling, bending, twisting, dragging, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. of sport and various equipment.
