PRIMARY DUTY:
This position is responsible to provide professional engineering assistance to the city including reviewing engineering plans for private and public development projects, working with developers, contractors, and consulting engineers as well as coordination with various state and local agencies. This position also reviews development plans including site plans, zoning requests, subdivision plats, etc., for conformance to engineering design standards in both the city and extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ). This position provides technical assistance to other staff engineers, developers and their engineers, and the public.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduate Engineer (Development)
Salary Range: $65,174.89-$97,762.34 (Dependent on experience and qualifications.)
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- At least one year of experience in the field of civil engineering, preferably related to development.
Development Engineer
Salary range: $75,448.08-$113,172.12 (Dependent on experience and qualifications.)
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Four or more years of experience in the field of civil engineering related to development or capital engineering.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Graduate Engineer (Development):
- Registration as an Engineer-in-Training in the State of Texas or the ability to obtain within six months of date of hire.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.
Development Engineer:
- Registration as a licensed engineer in the State of Texas or ability to obtain a license within six months of date of hire.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.
Senior Development Engineer:
Salary range: $87,340.59-$131,010.88 (Dependent on experience and qualifications.)
PRIMARY DUTY:
This position is responsible for providing professional engineering assistance to the City, including reviewing engineering plans for private and public development projects, working with developers, contractors, and consulting engineers as well as coordination with various state and local agencies. This position also reviews development plans including site plans, zoning requests, subdivision plats, etc., for conformance to engineering design standards in both the City and extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ). Responsibilities also include supporting the City Development Engineer with masterplans that help guide development within the city including the Mobility Master Plan, Water / Wastewater Masterplan, and Drainage Masterplan. There are opportunities for this position to prepare plans and specifications for minor internal projects and manage consulting engineers on various projects. The position also provides technical assistance to other staff engineers, developers and their engineers, and the public.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• Six or more years of experience in the field of land development or capital engineering.
• Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
• Registration as a licensed engineer in the State of Texas.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver License with a good driving record.
