Summary
Prepares and conducts training programs to develop employee skills and knowledge. Machines and equipment used are a computer, standard office equipment, audio/visual equipment, IP phones, and headset.
Essential Functions
- Supervise and train the work of a staff which provides water and electrical service connection and disconnection service;
- Prepare and conduct training programs for employees to develop identified skills and knowledge;
- Formulate teaching outline and program content based on course objective;
- Compile specific training materials for end users; conduct and coordinate training classes;
- Research the software and determine the impact it will have on the current billing system;
- Research, identify, and recommend possible solutions to billing issues and problems;
- Select and prepare training materials and presentation aids;
- Administer evaluation forms to obtain feedback on course;
- Determine user needs and write materials to reflect needs;
- Analyze, develop, and communicate business practices to all operations, including changes, and determine how software impacts business procedures;
- maintain employee records related to training, and prepare reports on training activities;
- Assist in collecting and analyzing data for training needs assessment;
- use database tools to identify specific account information needed to resolve billing problems;
- Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
Completion of a bachelor's degree in education, communications or a related field. Three to five years experience in teaching or training; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Adult education theory and practices.
- Use of a variety of business software such as word processing and graphics, billing systems, report writing, etc.
- Operations of electronic customer information and billing systems.
- Technical writing.
- Communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.
- Prepare and present training sessions.
- Maintain records and prepare reports.
- Communicate customer service skills including face-to-face and telephone etiquette.
- Read and write advance technical manuals and reports.
- Maintain a broad prospective of organizational functions.
- use judgment and reasoning to diagnose and correct problems.
- Set up and execute customer information systems to allow trainees to demonstrate their knowledge.
- Lead and evaluate to the work of others.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Maintain the ability to:
- Occasionally stand, walk, bend, and kneel;
- Occasionally push and pull objects;
- Rotate upper trunk to the left or right while sitting or standing;
- Place arms above, at, and below shoulder height.
