The Vice President of Finance will serve as a financial leader within a privately held management company that provides investment management and administrative services to a multi-generational family, its investment entities, and a private charitable foundation.
This individual will oversee all financial, accounting, and reporting functions across the management company and related entities, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance in all aspects of financial management. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, strategic finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, multi-entity environment and values discretion, integrity, and long-term stewardship.
This role will report directly to the President of the Management Company and will work closely with the General Counsel, external accounting firms, and financial advisors. The position does not include direct responsibility for investment decision-making but will require a strong understanding of investment structures, cash flows, and performance reporting.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Reporting
- Oversee all accounting, bookkeeping, and monthly financial reporting for the management company, charitable foundation, family entities, and personal holdings
- Prepare and review consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, cash flow forecasts, and management reports
- Develop and monitor annual operating budgets for the management company, family entities, and personal budgets
- Monitor financial performance versus budget; analyze variances and recommend adjustments
- Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and capital allocation across multiple entities and trusts
- Track and reconcile capital calls, distributions, and partnership activity for investment entities and private funds
Compliance and External Relations
- Partner with the General Counsel to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations across entity management, HR, and tax matters
- Work closely with third-party advisors on financial management and planning
- Coordinate with external accountants on annual audits, tax filings, and estimated payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all entities
- Partner with the General Counsel to manage relationships with external partners, auditors, tax advisors, banks, and insurance providers
- Maintain comprehensive and organized records of all financial transactions, partnership documentation, and investment data
Investment and Partnership Oversight
- Monitor financial reporting and cash activity across investment partnerships and entities managed by the Management Company
- Review individual investment performance and ensure financial records align with third-party manager reports
- Support portfolio and liquidity reporting for a diversified investment portfolio encompassing alternative, public, and cash investments
- Assist with preparation of materials for family review of investment and financial performance (no direct investment decision-making)
Family, Foundation, and Operating Business Support
- Oversee financial administration for the family’s charitable foundation, including cash management, grant disbursements, and audit coordination
- Manage and report on non-investment family assets such as real estate, art, wine, and other personal holdings
- Oversee administration of art collection, including maintaining database of historical information, insurance policies, location of collection, storage and movement
- Provide financial support for a family member’s operating business, including P&L oversight, cash-flow tracking, and budget monitoring
- Support personal financial matters for family members with professionalism and discretion
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or investment operations ideally within family office, investment entity or small to mid-sized businesses
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards
- Demonstrated expertise in family office tax considerations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with family members and external advisors
- Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex financial data into actionable insights
- Strategic mindset with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and mitigating risks
- Experience using QuickBooks, or other general ledger system, and eMoney preferred
- Exceptional integrity, discretion, and judgment

Compensation: Annual salary range of $150,000–$200,000, based on experience and qualifications, with comprehensive benefits
