Front Office Sports is seeking a sharp, proactive
Finance Manager to oversee daily financial operations and help build the systems, processes, and controls that will enable FOS to continue its strong growth. This role is ideal for someone who wants ownership, visibility, and a path toward senior finance leadership while still sharpening core finance fundamentals.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, operational rigor, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, scaling environment. Previous experience working at a media company and dealing with the nuances of billing brands and agencies is critical.
This role will report directly to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Month-End Close
- Oversee the full month-end close process, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain and continuously refine the general ledger to support new business models, contracts, and revenue streams.
- Serve as the primary contact for external banks, tax accountants, and auditors.
- Prepare and maintain organized financial records and audit-ready documentation.
Financial Operations
- Implement and maintain financial controls, approval workflows, and scalable operating procedures.
- Coordinate with the sales and account management teams on overdue accounts and ensure proper revenue and customer data is captured in the CRM.
- Calculate quarterly sales commissions based on receivables and costs of sale.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure proper AP/AR communication with external partners and customers.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting
- Partner with department leaders to provide visibility into expenses and track performance against budget.
- Build and maintain dashboards and financial reports for the executive team.
- Support the CFO with weekly and quarterly board reporting, analysis, and financial packages.
Cross-Functional Support
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, HR, and other teams to ensure accurate financial data and alignment across systems.
- Ensure consistency and completeness of all financial information flowing from cross-functional workflows (CRM, contracts, expenses, etc.).
Process & Systems Improvement
- Identify gaps and opportunities to improve financial operations and reduce manual work.
- Research, evaluate, and help implement new finance tools and automation systems (e.g., AP automation, reporting software).
- Document processes, SOPs, and controls to support scale and future team expansion
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- 3–5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Experience working in a high-growth or scaling media company is a strong plus.
- CPA or strong grounding in GAAP and basic tax compliance.
- Highly proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and very comfortable with QuickBooks.
- Experience working with Ramp for expenses and vendors.
- Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail.
- Able to translate financial data into clear insights and communicate effectively across teams.
- Curious, resourceful, and excited to work closely with senior leadership in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to partner cross-functionally.
- Takes pride in their work and is constantly looking for more ownership.
