As the Fleet Manager, you will:
Plan, organize, and oversee all fleet operations, including maintenance, repair, replacement, and utilization of City vehicles and equipment.
This role is essential in keeping Issaquah’s operations safe, reliable, and sustainable.

Manages the purchase, operation, maintenance, and replacement planning of all City-owned fleet vehicles and equipment.
Provides direction, training, and leadership to staff, including evaluating performance, mentoring, and making staffing recommendations.
Prepares division budget, implements budgeted work plan items, monitors division expenditures, and plans for long-term needs.
Serves as a power user of fleet management software. Implements Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) plans, develops key performance indicators and utilized data from system to inform lifecycle planning, as well as financial and operational decisions.
Collaborates on the City’s sustainability efforts, including fleet electrification, fuel management, and greenhouse gas reduction strategies.
Manages City fuel delivery, consumption and storage program while overseeing compliance with local, state, and federal laws and ordinances.
Applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Applying management and supervision principles, including training, hiring, evaluating, rewarding, and disciplining staff.
Applying and interpreting policies, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing and present information to staff, contractors, the City Council, and others.
Work is primarily performed indoors with frequent visits to the equipment repair shop to check work, inventory, machines, and supplies. Occasional field visits may also be required. May occasionally perform the work of a Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Indoor work consists of using a computer and being required to sit for extended periods of time. Work in the equipment repair shop exposes the employee to dirt, grease, noxious fumes, chemicals, and hazards related to working with and around a variety of equipment, working in confined spaces, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, and heavy lifting. Mechanic and Heavy Equipment Mechanic work requires bending, stooping, lifting, working in confined spaces, and working in and around a variety of heavy equipment and driving a variety of equipment and vehicles. May require lifting of up to 50 pounds. This position requires driving.
