The Recruitment Process:
The most highly qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the examination process which includes an in-person Qualifications Appraisal Interview. Qualifications Appraisal Interviews are scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Successful candidates will be placed on an eligible list for employment consideration for at least six months.
To view the full position description, please visit our website: Parks and Recreation SupervisorExperience: At least two years professional experience in the recreation services field such as facility management, a specific area of instructional specialization, planning, scheduling, and event coordination in a comprehensive recreation program. Experience directing recreation staff.Education: Educational achievement equivalent to a four-year college degree in recreation or a related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year for year basis. Additionally, candidate must obtain a four-year college degree equivalent within three years of appointment.Special Requirements:- Ability to obtain a CPR and advanced First Aid certificate;
- ability to obtain a water safety instructor's certificate and lifeguard training if assigned to the aquatics program;
- possession of a valid class C California driver's license with a safe driving record. The employee may be required to drive personal vehicle or arrange transportation between worksites.
