About The Role
We are seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst to drive financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making across our Recorded Music and Music Publishing businesses. This role partners closely with corporate finance, label operations, A&R, Marketing, and Publishing teams to deliver financial insights, lead forecasting processes, and support commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting
- Lead monthly forecast preparation and contribute to annual budget and long-range planning for Recorded Music and Publishing P&Ls
- Prepare comprehensive variance analyses, executive dashboards, and monthly business reviews with clear narrative and actionable insights
- Support corporate FP&A on consolidation, scenario planning, and board-level reporting
- Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy and reporting efficiency
Revenue & Consumption Analysis
- Model streaming consumption trends, catalog performance, and frontline release trajectories across key markets and DSPs
- Analyze Publishing income streams including performance, mechanical, synch, and direct licensing revenue
- Develop revenue projections incorporating market dynamics, release slate timing, and royalty settlement patterns
- Lead reconciliation efforts with Accounting and Royalty teams on actuals vs. forecast
A&R, Creative & Marketing Partnership
- Evaluate new artist and songwriter deals through ROI modeling, recoupment analysis, and deal structure assessment
- Partner with A&R and Marketing to model campaign performance, track project budgets, and assess expected vs. actual results
- Provide analytical support for catalog acquisition opportunities and investment cases
- Prepare release forecast updates and performance analytics for leadership meetings
Operational & Strategic Finance
- Build and maintain financial models supporting pricing strategies, distribution scenarios, catalog monetization, and new revenue initiatives
- Develop operational dashboards surfacing key trends across streaming, synch, catalog performance, and commercial activity
- Identify opportunities to enhance data quality, streamline planning processes, and improve forecast reliability
- Conduct ad hoc analysis for strategic initiatives and business development opportunities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with A&R, Marketing, Business Affairs, Royalty Accounting, Synch, Publishing Administration, and International teams
- Work with BI/analytics teams to improve consumption and royalty data accessibility and accuracy
- Communicate financial insights effectively to both finance and creative stakeholders
- Build strong working relationships across the organization to enhance information flow
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or relevant analytical roles
- Strong understanding of music industry economics including streaming revenue, recoupment mechanics, royalty structures, and catalog dynamics
- Advanced Excel/Sheets modeling capabilities and experience building scenario-based financial models
- Proficiency with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, PowerBI) preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to influence non-finance stakeholders
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Experience in media, entertainment, or consumer digital businesses
- Familiarity with royalty systems (Vistex, Counterpoint, RoyaltyShare, Curve) or distribution platforms
- SQL or Python experience for data manipulation and analysis
- Passion for music and understanding of emerging digital revenue opportunities
