Examples of Duties
The
Animal Service Representative is the first level in the series responsible for general clerical and accounting record keeping related to animal services customer accounts. Under supervision, performs routine and less complex clerical and record keeping tasks and duties dealing with customers at the front counter or by phone, and processing adoptions, licenses, impounds and fees associated with the enforcement of the animal services program; learns policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties; performs related duties as required.

Typical Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for an Animal Service Representative. A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of one (1) year of general office experience in a financial or record keeping setting, preferably including experience in public contact and automated office systems, prior experience handling and sheltering of animals desirable; possession of a High School diploma or GED.
Supplemental Information
Must be able to participate with the required City’s Adjusted Workweek Schedule, and work weekends, holidays, and evenings on a rotating shift in order to provide customer service to the community during open shelter hours.
