Position Purpose
Supervision and direction of Law enforcement personnel and assisting Administration.
Essential Job Functions
- Patrol assigned elementary schools daily.
- Supervision of assigned staff
- Creating working relationships with building administrators.
- Review all reports submitted by assigned officers. Return for corrections and / or missing information as needed.
- Observe officers’ actions while interacting with students' staff and visitors.
- Attend high school and middle school administrator’s meetings with building officers at least once a month. Submit the agenda to the chief.
- Complete discipline reports as needed.
- Report any situations that pertain to narcotics, weapons of any kind, sexual activities of any kind, battery with SBI, and gang activities suspected or proven to the chief as soon as it is safe to do so. And provide updates as they are received.
- Advise the chief before involving outside agencies. No exceptions.
- Complete annual evaluations on each assigned officer.
- Assist transportation during student transportation times (trouble with students or parents on a bus or bus stop, impass on routes, and vehicle crashes)
- Someone takes command on scene.
Equipment
- Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copier and fax machines, calculator, and telephone.
- Use of standard law enforcement equipment.
Travel Requirements
Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

$65,520.00
Work Schedule
8 hours per day
260 days per year
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Proven knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
- Proven knowledge of relevant equipment, polices, procedures and strategies to promote effective local, state or national security operations for the protection of people.
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Basic computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Efficient critical thinking & complex problem-solving skills.
- Problem sensitivity skills.
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
- Ability to combine pieces of information for form general rules or conclusions.
- Ability to listen and understand information and idea presented through spoken words and sentences. Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have clear driving record.
- Must be free of felony convictions.
- Must pass background check investigation. Triple I and Department of Child Services check.
- Must be able to qualify with fire arms and other issued equipment.

License/ Registration/ Certification
- ILEA Tier 1 Certification of Law Enforcement.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Education
- High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to successfully perform the duties of the position.
- Successful completion of board interview process.
Experience
- Minimum (5) years of law enforcement experience.
- Previous experience with managing or supervising employees.
