Currently, we have three part-time 30-hour-a-week Library Aide positions open. One in our Circulation division at the Central Library and two at our Tarea Hall Pitman South Branch.

Equivalent to graduation from high school. No experience is required. Experience working in a library setting is preferred.Other requirements:Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Performs a wide range of physical motions, which may include routine and repetitive bending, reaching, and pushing, moving, and carrying library materials. Must have sufficient strength to repeatedly lift books weighing between 1 and 10 pounds, including overhead lifting, to load transit boxes, book bins, and push book trucks weighing in excess of 50 pounds.Application must be received by Monday, 18, 2026, at 5:00 pm PST, unless we reach the 200 max candidates, and must include a completed application and resume. - In-Person Performance Exam (Tentatively scheduled for June 8, June 11, and June 12; but may be scheduled earlier if we reach 200 candidates before the close date)
Tests may consist of any combination of written, oral, or other exercises or assessment procedures that test content and may include, but are not necessarily limited to, typing, math, reading, writing, and analytical skills; problem-solving ability; computer and software proficiency, or any other job-related knowledge, skill, ability, or qualification. The examination process and dates are subject to change. The City may, without notice, change or eliminate any assessment component as needs dictate.
