Provides support for the convention & visitors bureau through marketing duties in tourism, film, and sports development. Works alongside the director on long-term and short-term projects, both unplanned and spontaneous tasks, and others that are a minimum range of 12 – 18 months in advance. Work includes graphic design, social media, editorial, etc., for online and print marketing collateral.

Position functions are subject to change based on departmental needs and external factors including, but not limited to, regulatory requirements.- Works with the Director to manage projects, including but not limited to visitor guides/brochures, editorial calendars, websites (primary and sports), microsites, blogs, presentations, and all other marketing-related products;
- Designs brochures, presentations, and other marketing items for consistency to match brand guidelines;
- Creates and updates, as needed, CVB brand guide;
- Takes photos and videos, manages images and video libraries, and provides photos and videos upon request to media;
- Works alongside the Director on major projects, including sporting events promotion (Cycle NC, U.S. Open, USGA Girls’ Junior Championship, etc.), film site location requests, events calendar entires, and website guidelines;
- Manages images of websites, designs microsites (U.S. Open Men’s Golf, Cycle NC, Country Inns & Craft Beverages, etc.) and social media;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Tourism and a minimum of two years’ experience in marketing. Graphic design experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of marketing and graphic design;
- Knowledge of digital marketing and social media;
- Knowledge of governmental agencies or organizations;
- Knowledge of digital platforms;
- Ability to communicate with tourism and hospitality contacts and visitor business owners;
- Ability to adapt to changing environment with varying deadlines and multiple project timelines;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with County team members and the general public.

Special Requirements**Must be fingerprinted and successfully pass a Criminal History Record Check with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations (NCSBI)**Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license.
