Registration with the State of Michigan under Act 407 as a Plans Examiner and Building Inspector is required for consideration. GENERAL PURPOSE Performs a variety of routine and complex technical work in the field of building inspection to ensure that the State Construction Code and other related codes, ordinances, and standards are met. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education and experience: (A) Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and (B) Four (4) years of experience in general building construction as a contractor, skilled worker, a person responsibly in charge of construction, or a combination of aforementioned. (C) At least three (3) years previous related enforcement experience within a building department and/or ordinance enforcement agency, etc. (D) Current license from the State of Michigan as a Building Inspector/Plan Examiner. Salary: The current pay range is $65,499 - $72,280, which is depending on qualifications. The work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. It is in-person because we pride ourselves on serving the public and supporting each other. A city vehicle is provided while on duty.
