Job Summary
Our client, an established Insurance Services firm, is seeking an
Accounting Manager to help oversee the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management:
- Oversee accounting operations including Billing, A/R, expense management, and other accounting related duties as needed
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Qualifications
- Experience:
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a service business
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience managing and reporting on company expenses
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Skills:
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
