PAY AND BENEFITS
LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Annual Pay Range: $56,941.94 - $72,876.11
Hourly Pay Range: $27.375933 - $35.036589
LABORATORY ANALYST
Annual Pay Range: $62,782.66 - $80,239.43
Hourly Pay Range: $30.183970 - $38.576649
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

JOB DETAILS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Clackamas Water Environment Services (WES) is searching for a motivated individual to join our dedicated team in the Water Quality Laboratory as a Laboratory Technician or Analyst, performing chemical lab operations and procedures. Ideal candidates will possess strong knowledge and skill with chemical and biological examination techniques including microscopic and bacteriological procedures, operation and maintenance of analytical instrumentation, and statistical methodologies to collect, analyze, and evaluate data on samples. Key components of this position include applying lab quality assurance and control principles, lab sampling methods and techniques, wet bench chemistry procedures, and maintaining safety practices.
This is a unique opportunity as we are planning to fill a vacant position as either a Laboratory Technician or Analyst as a result of this recruitment process and are willing to consider applicants at either the Technician or Analyst level.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR LAB TECHNICIAN
Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
• A minimum of one (1) year of related experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills to perform the responsibilities of this position
• Experience collecting and analyzing data
• Experience in documenting laboratory analysis and/or monitoring
• Experience keeping accurate records
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Working knowledge of safety standards required in a laboratory setting
• Ability to work in an environment requiring a high degree of flexibility based on regularly changing priorities

WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties require frequent standing, squatting, bending, reaching, fine motor control, accurate color perception, and the ability to lift up to 45 pounds, and carry, push, and pull objects. Duties involve exposure to bacteria, viruses, and toxic material in wastewater, and handling chemicals and bacteriological waste matter.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position works 40 hours during a standard workweek of Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm:
• Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.
• This position is designated as on-site/in-person. It is expected that the selected candidate will perform duties at the specified on-site work location.

Clackamas Water Environment Services produces clean water and protects water quality for more than 190,000 people living and working in Clackamas County. We operate and maintain five resource recovery facilities, 23 pumping stations and hundreds of miles of pipes.
Each year, we clean more than seven billion gallons of water which we recover and turn into natural energy and fertilizer. We also help reduce pollution in local rivers, streams, and wetlands caused by surface and stormwater runoff, the number one source of water pollution in Oregon.
