Job Description
Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Juvenile Probation Officer I. This position performs professional counseling, guidance and enforcement work in the operation of the County's juvenile probation program. Typical duties include counseling and conferring with juveniles, parents, schools and agencies providing resources for probationers and other clients. Investigates, monitors and reports on cases involving juveniles who have violated the law or their probation. Investigates referrals and formulation of treatment plans. Prepares and maintains Court documents and records. May be required to appear in court and furnish testimony. Collects moneys involving restitution, attorney's fees, probation fees and court costs. Performs related duties as required.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college in criminal justice, counseling, law, social work, psychology, sociology, or other field of instruction approved by the commission. Must also possess one year of experience in a related area or one year of graduate school. Must be eligible to obtain juvenile probation officer certification. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator's Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
