Work Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm
3-day weekends Saturday - Monday

Position Overview:
Under general direction of the Budget Officer, the Budget Analyst will perform a wide variety of professional work such as providing year-round budget support and research and analysis related to financial objectives. This includes assisting departments in the annual budget preparation, conducting budget analysis, preparing reports, forecasting of revenues and expenditures, and monitoring financial performance.
Essential Job Functions
Participates in preparing the City's annual adopted budget including but not limited to developing, preparing and updating multi-year revenue and expenditure forecasts, gathering supporting documentation, benchmarking, reviewing department budget and metric submissions, updating financial suite data, preparing budget presentations, participating in budget committee reviews and City Council budget work sessions and meetings, and preparing and distributing final budget documents. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to responding to budget inquiries, providing recommendations, preparing monthly budget to actual financial performance reports, collecting various quantitative data from multiple sources and performing comparative analyses, and preparing survey responses. Performs special projects at the request of management. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, budgeting, financial management or a related field. Two years of full-time accounting and/or budgeting experience. Governmental budgetary experience is a plus.
Other Requirements
Valid Driver's License required. Must have and maintain a good driving record in accordance with the driving standards as established by the City of Rowlett. Must report all traffic citations to his/her departmental Director or his/her designee within two working days of receipt.
