DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
Position Specific Summary
The Civil Engineer at the City of Tucson’s Water Department provides engineering design, review, project management, and construction support in the Planning and Engineering Division. Activities include design and review of potable and reclaimed water systems. Projects include the design and rehabilitation of reservoirs, booster stations, pressure reducing stations, transmission mains, and distribution mains.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Engineering Manager. This position may exercise supervision over division personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities
Utilizes Tucson Water Design, standards and specifications to develop and review water plans. Develops project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
Prepares and monitors project budgets by developing capital improvement project requests, project charters and projection reports. Gathers equipment and material needs projections, compiles budget proposals and monitors expenditures.
Maintains and controls all project documents including cost proposals, contracts, correspondence, agency review comments, special specifications, permits, transmittals, construction submittals and reviews comments. Processes project invoices and construction pay applications.
Conducts facility inspections, site visits and oversees commissioning processes. Communicates with consultants, agencies, contractors and the public concerning specific project goals, changes and activities.
Working Conditions
Mostly office environment.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree
Work Experience:
Two (2) years of directly related experience
License:
Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

4 years of demonstrated job history in the planning, design and construction of water related infrastructure.
Experience/Training/ Certifications in/from CAD, BIM, Water System Operations, OSHA, HAZWOPER, ASME AWS etc.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Full Hourly Range: $35.37 - 61.01 USD
