Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree. One year of code enforcement or consumer complaint investigation and resolution experience relating to the sale of goods and/or services for personal, family, or household purposes is required. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis. Must possess a drivers license.

Key responsibilities include inspecting, testing, and enforcing regulatory provisions for weights and measures, instrument validation, accurate labeling of packaged merchandise, and prevention of deceptive advertising. The role involves investigating citizen complaints, gathering evidence, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Duties also include operating mechanical calibration equipment to assess the accuracy of various scales, meters, and measuring devices used in commercial activities. The Inspector works independently in the field, exercising tact and judgment when communicating ordinance provisions to merchants and consumers, while receiving supervision and guidance from technical and administrative superiors.
