Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Director, the Parks & Recreation Manager is responsible for assisting the Director in the general supervision and control of the Parks and Recreation Department. The Parks & Recreation Manager will assist in developing and directing the public recreation program to serve the needs of the citizens of the community, including a variety of programs for youth, adults, seniors, adaptive, and nature service programs, while also providing additional oversight for the maintenance of the city’s park system.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Recreation or related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Seven (7) years of progressive experience in a supervisory role, including both recreation and park settings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Related professional certification is required; Certified Parks and Recreation Executive (CPRE) achievement preferred.
