Under the supervision of a City Department Director or his/her designee, the College Intern will be given the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and receive a wide-range of experience in all areas of the department. This broad range of experience is intended to be an asset in preparing the intern for a career in public service.
The position will work with the City Manager's Office staff to assist in implementing the City’s social media and communications strategy. This position will assist the department in the day-to-day coordination of the City’s social media platforms, promotional initiatives, and disseminating City news and announcements through the City’s communication outlets. Other duties include maintaining the City website as directed by City Manager's Office staff and assisting the City Clerk in implementing the City’s records retention schedule.
A successful candidate will be computer proficient, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of graphic design, multimedia content creation, and excellent writing skills are desired.
Flexible schedule of 15-20 hours per week Monday-Thursday between the hours of 7:30am-6:00pm, with the possibility of weekend events required.
