The City of Puyallup is accepting applications for an Engineering Technician IV for the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) division of the Public Works Department. The priority application date for this posting is November 21st with interviews anticipated the week of December 9th.

This is highly advanced technical field and/or office engineering related work on public works projects. Field duties are performed as a chief construction inspector. Office duties include file and documentation management. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of very complex engineering task and is expected to independently solve problems in the field or office. Work is primarily conducted in in the field under a variety of weather conditions but can include work conducted in an office.

Qualifications include:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent and six years experience utilizing the skills leading to and/or required for this position, which demonstrates the ability to perform the work; or an Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology and four years experience in a related technical field, or a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, and two years experience in a technical field.
Special Qualifications:
Possession of or the ability to obtain, valid Washington State drivers license, as required by the position. Engineer-In-Training Certificate is desirable.
