JOB SUMMARY:
The Creative Services Director will lead the creative team and drive the visual and conceptual direction of all marketing creative pieces. A creative storyteller driven by today’s fast-moving media landscape, the Director excels at building creative visuals and has a digital-first view of creative units, keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices. This role is pivotal in supporting the brand identity and ensuring consistent, high-quality creative work across various channels, including digital, print, and experiential marketing.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creative Leadership
- Creates and oversees a wide range of creative, powerful concepts for use across GMCVB channels, including, but not limited to print, digital, video, social and specific print publications.
- Responsible for production of GMCVB’s main publications with input from GMCVB departments (marketing plans, visitor guides, annual company report, visitor profile report).
- Oversee all creative projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with marketing strategies and goals.
- Lead and inspire creative team as well as freelance team of copywriters, photographers and video editors.
- Develop, create and maintain any high impact creative units located at key visitor touchpoint locations throughout the community such as: Miami International Airport, PortMiami, Miami Beach Convention Center, Visitor Center network and others.
- Partners with copywriter and Creative Services team in the ideation and execution of creative to develop cohesive assets.
- Ability to develop creative units across multiple content platforms from print, digital, social and experiential.
Project Management
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets via ASANA project management tool.
- Provide clear creative direction and feedback to team members.
- Provides ongoing support to the team in developing, growing and sustaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders by staying on top of deliverables and ensuring timely delivery of projects.
- Manage production, including design creation, copywriting, proofreading/editing/fact checking, delivery and conversions for appropriate channels.
- Accountable for meeting multiple tight deadlines with the ability to react to immediate company needs and/or external stakeholder needs.
- Partners with copywriter and Creative Services team in the ideation and execution of creative to develop cohesive assets.
- Presents creative concepts to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Meets with GMCVB departments on an ongoing basis to develop a plan for creative projects and associated deadlines.
- Develops and communicates visual designs, concepts, storyboards as needed.
- Collaborate closely with Digital Marketing team to ensure all new assets are properly integrated, including securing usage rights into the GMCVB’s Digital Asset Management Library.
Brand Integration
Maintain and support brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
Develop and oversee the production of GMCVB creative units, including videos, graphics, and promotional materials.
Ensure all creative work reflects DEIA+ inclusion as well as the vibrancy of the destination.
Support marketing programs for quality and consistency in branding, messaging, style and tone.
Manage and oversee $500K budget including processing of all invoices for department.
Supervision Given: Exempt staff position: Editorial Manager, Art Director, Graphic Designer
External Contractors: Advertising & PR agencies
External Constituents: Interacts with vendors, partners, interlocal partners, Key stakeholders.
Internal Teams: Confer and provide support to all department and staff up to the President & CEO.

Qualifications include:
- Success in this position requires high-level interpersonal skills for frequent interaction with partners, Bureau staff, interlocal partners and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in the following computer software programs or equivalent: Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, Google Docs Editor Suite and Asana. Includes advanced proficiency in Creative Programs including Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to read, write and understand English well.
- Strong project and people management skills, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
- Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.
- Ability to Interface with Senior GMCVB managers effectively.
- Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently while achieving optimum quality.
- Develop systems to track progress of projects and activities.
- Interact with high-level stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Provides customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Responds to inquiries in a timely manner using initiative to resolve customer concerns.
- Analyzes data to identify opportunities for growth.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
