Job Responsibilities
Under limited supervision,
- Provides first level problem determination and support to users of SCDC automated systems/telecommunications statewide.
- Provide support and Help Desk services for users of SCDC mainframe systems, PC network, Health IT Systems, telecommunications and videoconferencing.
- Assist the electronic health record (EHR) support staff with advanced level support of end users and end user training.
- Serve as the central point of contact for all passwords, user ids, and access questions and problems.
- Serve as the central point of contact for all IT and telecommunications hardware/exchanges/repairs.
- Support video conferencing equipment, multi-function printers/copiers and emerging technologies.
- Support end users to ensure proper use of data phones, PDAs, data cards, VPN, tokens etc.
- Serve as back-up to other Help Desk staff members.
- Assist with documenting Help Desk procedures.
- Assist in maintaining proper IT equipment and telecommunications equipment inventories.
- Assist supervisors with IT Asset inventory.

Minimum And Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. An associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
- An Associate's degree or a Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in written form.
- Ability to work with others in a technical environment providing first level problem determination to users of SCDC on-line systems statewide.
