About the Position
The Real Property GIS & CAD Specialist provides GIS, CAD, and title technical services for transportation (MCDOT), Flood Control District (FCDMC), and other county departments. They research and analyze property deeds, land surveys, title reports, and other recorded and unrecorded documents affecting land parcels. They prepare project right-of-way plans, base maps, legal descriptions, legal exhibits, aerial displays, and other documents to acquire project right-of-way, abandonments, land sales, and other real estate transactions. Respond to inquiries related to existing MCDOT and Flood Control right of way and work closely with personnel within the Real Estate Department, FCDMC, MCDOT, Planning and Development, Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, other county departments, governmental agencies, consultants, realtors, and the public.

We Require
- Two years of experience related to the technical area of assignment
- Knowledge of principles and practices of land surveying
- Knowledge of principles and practices of right-of-way and engineering design
- Knowledge of principles and applications of GIS
- Associate degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, Geographic Information Systems, or field related to the area of assignment
- A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
- A valid Arizona driver’s license
We Also Value
- Experience using ArcPro, CAD, coordinate geometry programs and Microsoft suite of programs
- Experience in encoding real estate records and data into a database and ArcPro

Job Contributions
- Create and QC legal descriptions, exhibits, ROW plans, and other documents
- Maintain and update real estate parcel land records and GIS parcel polygons and attributes
- Review and analyze legal documents, construction plans, title reports, and other documents to prepare project right-of-way plans, legal descriptions, exhibits, and GIS depictions of land parcels
- Review and provide feedback on engineering project construction plan submittals and special use permit applications
- Respond to inquiries related to existing and future MCDOT and FCD right of way
- Attend project meetings as required
Working Conditions
The position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. It requires exercising up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR requires walking or standing significantly.
