Under administrative direction, is responsible for the management of assigned City facilities to include budgeting resources, building operation and maintenance, custodial services and the coordination and administration of projects from initial concept, planning stage to procurement of construction, reviewing bids, contract negotiations, construction and job completion. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.
This position is an "unclassified" position and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. - Formulates and manages financial performance of the division, sets operational and financial goals and oversees the development of the budget.
- Manages the implementation and operation of an inventory control system.
- Negotiates contracts with vendors and service providers.
- Plans and coordinates fiscal/contractual activities among various City departments.
- Manages the implementation and operation of a work order tracking
system. - Manages the implementation and oversees the operation of quality controls associated with building maintenance.
- Oversees building construction projects to ensure delivery on time, within pre-established budget and of superior quality.
- Manages the implementation and operation of a building preventive maintenance program.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Six (6) years of experience in the management of public or private facilities, to include two (2) years of supervisory responsibility.

- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
