Under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor, the purpose of this position is to perform mowing, weeding, trimming, pruning, and maintaining of City parks, buildings, facilities, medians, rights-of-ways, and tourist identified areas. Duties include litter removal, vehicle and equipment maintenance, playground equipment maintenance, plumbing, irrigation, carpentry, painting, and preparation for special events. Other duties may be assigned. Employee is considered essential, and attendance is mandatory in the event of a storm or disaster. Occasional overtime is required in evenings and weekends. May work overtime and perform other duties as required.
This position is subject to the City of Portland’s Background Investigation and Drug Testing Policy. New hires are required to provide proof of identity and legal authority to work in the United States per Federal law.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications require a High School Diploma or GED equivalent and Valid Texas Motor Vehicle Operator’s Class C License.
