The City of Greenwood Village welcomes your interest in the Right of Way Permit Coordinator position in our Public Works Department. This position is unique to Greenwood Village because in many Cities, right of way permitting is an administration function. In Greenwood Village this is a technical role where the individual will be responsible for reviewing and approving construction plans, cost estimates and schedules, inspecting right of way construction, managing the right of way permit database and process, managing a team of right of way construction inspectors, and coordinating with contractors to ensure compliance with standards.
With this in mind, the ideal candidate will possess several key skills. First, a background in civil construction as an inspector, materials tester, engineer, or construction superintendent is preferred. Experience in asphalt, concrete, earthwork and landscaping is required and expertise demonstrated through certifications such as LabCat Level A, LabCat APM Inspector, ACI Concrete Finishing Technician, and CDOT TECS are favorable. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience reviewing or implementing construction traffic control plans and preferably received training as a flagger and TCS. The ideal candidate will have the ability to use technology effectively including expertise in the Microsoft office suite and the ability to input, manipulate, and query information in a database. The ideal candidate will have experience in or an aptitude for managing a team of people including providing professional mentorship and performance related feedback in both formal and informal settings. The ideal candidate will have a proactive and relational conflict management style to effectively address concerns with permittees and the general public and will have exceptional organizational skills to track and manage the dozens of permits active within the city at any given time.
SALARY RANGE: $30.18 - $48.07 per hour
HIRING RANGE: $30.18 - $39.13 Commensurate to experience.

SCHEDULE/REMOTE/HYBRID: This position may involve working a variety of schedules, including evenings. Requires shift, weekend, or off hour/day work; may receive calls on a 24-hour basis; and may be required to appear on-site in emergency situations during off duty hours. Remote and/or hybrid schedules are not available. However, flexible scheduling may be discussed upon hire and supervisor approval.
RELOCATION: This position is located in Greenwood Village, Colorado. Relocation assistance is not provided.
REQUIREMENTS: Two years of increasingly responsible experience working with public and/or private utilities, with a working knowledge of pubic-sector right-of-way regulations. Equivalent to a high school diploma. Possession of or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to obtain coverage by the City’s insurance carrier.
