Then apply to become our Code Enforcement Officer in support of the Town of Paradise Valley’s (Town) mission to provide high-quality public services to a community that values limited government. The Code Enforcement Officer investigates code violations of zoning, properties, washes, right-of-ways, and safety ordinances, under general supervision.
More specifically, the Code Enforcement Officer:
- Performs a variety of tasks associated with the enforcement of the Town Codes up to and including writing citations.
- Coordinates code compliance efforts with the Town Prosecutor.
- Initiates legal action for ongoing violations.
- May have to testify as primary Town witness in court proceedings regarding violations.
- Provides information to property owners, preparing reports and maintaining records of violations, citations and initiation of legal action for continuing violations.
- Conducts field surveys, investigating complaints to wash areas.
- Notes defective conditions and advises construction supervisor or property owner of appropriate corrective action required; conducts follow-up inspections to assure compliance with standards and ordinances; issues citations for non-compliance.
- Contacts homeowners regarding maintenance activities, code violations, hazardous conditions on property, etc., and to provide requested information.
- Orders the compliance, abatement, removal or alteration of conditions that violate the Town Code, laws and regulations.
