About Us:The City of Glendale Parks and Recreation Department is split into two distinct areas:
- The Parks Division manages and maintains all public parks, open spaces, trails, storm water retention basins, landscaping at municipal facilities and Thunderbird Conservation Park. The Division is also responsible for monitoring and ensuring the safety and security of park and facility use.
- The Recreation Division offers opportunities to enhance the social, physical, mental and economic health of our community through a variety of diverse recreation programs and facilities. Recreation programs and events are held at the Foothills Recreation and Aquatics Center, the Glendale Adult Center, Historic Sahuaro Ranch, the five community centers and at basketball, tennis, skate courts and other recreation facilities throughout the city.

The City of Glendale Recreation division is currently looking for fun, friendly individuals who enjoy working in a community recreation center environment.
The purpose of this position is to plan, implement, supervise and coordinate activities for community members in our centers, while enforcing safety and City policies and procedures; providing guidance to program participants. Preparing recreation facilities, meeting rooms, fields and courts for planned activities and events; setting up sports equipment, audio visual equipment, tables, chairs and/or recreational equipment needed for scheduled activities; providing guidance to participants regarding equipment use and safety; checking equipment for needed repairs and returning equipment to storage upon program completion.

Salary
This position is
- FLSA non-exempt, and will earn overtime for any hours worked over 40 in a week, with an hourly rate of $16.50.

- Facilitate day-to-day operations (including set-up and organization) of various recreation programs, events and activities.
- Inventories program supplies regularly and provides information about any items that might be needed. Â
- Sets up and takes down equipment for activities and events; supervises and coaches participants as directed.Â
- Â Monitors program participants, enforces rules and regulations, and monitors security of facilities.Â
- Â Interacts with the public in responding to questions and assisting in preparation for programs and events.
- Performs other related duties as required
Knowledge of
- Parks and Recreation department policies and regulations.
- Various types of recreation programs (i.e. athletic games, drama, gaming, music, dance and/or computers).
Ability to
- Interact with citizens in a fun, friendly and courteous manner.
- Interact effectively and courteously with the public and other employees.
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.

- Must be at least 18 years in age
- Must have/obtain First Aid/CPR Certification within 30 days of hire
- Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
