The City of Fullerton is recruiting for a highly experienced Director of Administrative Services to manage the day-to-day activities of the Administrative Services Department. The successful candidate will have a broad background in municipal finance and a strong track record of success in managing a multi-faceted organization. The new Director will work closely with the City Manager’s Office and will be directly responsible for a department of 31 full-time employees, with an operating budget of $5.6 million. This senior-level executive will be results-driven, with well-grounded, ethical decision-making skills, superior interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated leadership potential, and outstanding public speaking abilities.

This is an executive, at-will position. Only those candidates deemed most qualified will be invited to interview with the City. Interviews will be conducted in May 2025 with the final selection being made by the City Manager.

Employment Guidelines
Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in finance, management, business administration, public administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a related field is desirable.
Experience: This position requires a minimum of eight years of progressively responsible administrative, finance, municipal management, or a closely related field, including three years at the mid-management level in an organization comparable to Fullerton in terms of the scope of activity.

Insurance - Personalized benefit alternatives, including a choice of health insurance coverage with Cigna (PPO or HMO) or Kaiser, and dental insurance through Delta Dental. Employees may choose to forego the City's medical benefit and receive a cash payment in lieu thereof.
Retirement – Membership in the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS). Fullerton does not participate in the Social Security retirement system.
Other - Eleven holidays, vacation benefits and tuition reimbursement of up to $2,500 per fiscal year for job-related education.
