King County District Court Profile
KCDC is the largest and most technologically advanced Court of Limited Jurisdiction in the State of Washington. It currently processes approximately 200,000 matters per year with 25 elected judges and roughly 260 employees at 8 courthouse locations. The Court is a leader in many areas involving public safety and access to justice, including the use of problem-solving courts, jail-alternative programs, technology- and judge-managed probation services. Twelve cities contract with King County for court services provided by KCDC.
Position Summary
We are looking for an exceptionally talented HR Analyst to provide primarily recruitment support and coordinate human resource functions for King County District Court (KCDC). This role will occasional support other tasks to include labor and employee relations as well as leaves and accommodations.
The KCDC HR Analyst will provide technical and analytical advice, counsel and support in employment, classification, compensation, employee and labor relations, diversity, and other HR functions at King County District Court (KCDC). This position will recruit diverse talent, build and maintain strong partnerships, and develop and sustain standard work processes. The candidate hired will enjoy working in a service-oriented, collaborative team environment ensuring delivery of efficient, effective, quality service to both internal and external customers.
- The majority of the work in this position will be in Talent Acquisition and conducting employee lifecycle activities:
- Primary Contact for the completion of Recruiting and Onboarding tasks.
- Exit support and processing, and
- Stay Interviews and engagement activities
- Conduct compensation reviews including necessary research and analysis, as assigned.
- Provide a wide variety of information, advice and consultation to employees, management and the public concerning human resource programs policies and procedures, and interpretation and application of laws and regulations; research and respond to inquiries; provide technical analysis, consultation and/or assistance in one or more program areas.
- Implement a wide range of human resource programs, processes and procedures; assure compliance with laws, rules and regulations; coordinate with human resources department.
- Provide administrative support to bargaining teams in the preparation and negotiation of large/complex labor contracts.
- Assist in contract administration, including investigation of grievances, and preparation for administrative hearings and arbitrations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Two-Four years of progressive human resource experience in recruitment, leaves and accommodations, to include application of Washington State and King County leave laws.
OR - Any equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge, and ability required to perform the work.
Other Qualifications- Inquisitive, curious, strategic partner skilled in coaching, facilitation, communication, and process improvement.
- Strong skills in project management with a high level of organization and strong attention to detail.
- Comfort with ambiguity, flexibility, and adapting to shifting priorities and plans in a fast-paced environment with many moving parts.
- Excellent customer service, oral and written communication, organizational and negotiation skills; including ability to work productively with different levels of management and staff during challenging conditions.
- Experience and demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds, including sensitivity to and knowledge of various ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Desirable Qualifications- Previous experience working in a unionized environment.
- Strong familiarity with NEOGOV, or similar Talent Management System systems.
- Strong familiarity with PeopleSoft, or similar HRIS system
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs including Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

- Work location: Seattle, Washington - King County Courthouse, 516 3rd Ave., Seattle, WA 98104. The work associated with this position will be performed through a hybrid work model that will require both onsite and remote work. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change.
- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and move and/or lift up to 10 pounds. The vision abilities required to perform this position include close vision.
- Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in an office environment with a moderate amount of noise (computers, printers, light traffic). This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
