High School Diploma or GED; one year of customer service, data processing experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must be multi-tasked oriented and able to work under stressful and demanding situations. Good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills, organizational skills, good typing skills with speed and accuracy a must with good penmanship required. PC experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and mainframe required. Municipal Utility Customer Service experience / knowledge preferred. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Functions include but are not limited to answering phone calls, greeting walk-in customers, dispatching customer complaints or request over two-way radio to field crews, logging and retrieving customer data from database, providing assistance to office staff, utilize department GIS and work order management systems, perform other duties as required. This position is part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.
