KCLS is hiring a Marketing Manager to lead the marketing team within the Communications and Marketing department, including our e-mail, social media, video, photography, and web content. The position also oversees our ongoing and future advertising campaigns and is the brand manager for KCLS. This position develops campaigns in partnership with the Communications Manager and Graphics department, utilizing all our internal resources to achieve organizational goals and enhance awareness of KCLS with new and existing patrons across King County.
In this position you will:
- Lead 4-5 large-scale, system-wide seasonal marketing campaigns annually. Collaborate with Communications team and lead creative teams to produce promotional content and execute digital components of campaigns and KCLS storytelling in organic channels.
- Participate in every phase of the development process, including writing creative/advertising briefs, writing marketing copy, providing creative direction and feedback throughout the review process, signing off on final approval for production, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners throughout the organization to facilitate project intake and guide marketing strategy.
- Plan and manage seasonal and always-on advertising campaigns across digital, print, and social media platforms in collaboration with advertising agency. Lead internal creative team in concepting, developing, producing and handing off final paid media campaign deliverables, including copy.
- Serves as a liaison between KCLS and external advertising agency.
- Produce and oversee digital content calendar, including social media, email content, and web content.
- Focus on brand positioning in the market and alignment with promotional goals. Provide brand management guidance to the department in the development of marketing and communications materials.
- Create and maintain marketing processes, best practices, templates, workflows, and checklists.
- Act as project manager for the marketing team’s deliverables
- Establishes goals, action plans, timelines, and expectations with department leadership for successful team performance.

- Coordinates marketing communication that supports high profile events for KCLS.
- Reaches diverse audiences and communities with external communication that support the library as a welcoming and inclusive place.
- Selects, coaches, develops, and manages performance for members of the assigned work team.
- Establishes goals, action plans, timelines, and expectations with department leadership for successful team performance.

- Five years of experience in marketing roles, preferably with experience in digital marketing, content development, advertising, and/or photo and video direction.
- Three years of experience leading or managing a team or campaign.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position will be considered.

Work EnvironmentWork is performed in a typical office environment and in the community for engagement activities. Work schedule may include occasional early morning, evening, and/or weekend meetings for commitments. Some travel within the service area is required. Incumbent may be permitted hybrid telework schedule upon request.
