The
Department of Design and Construction,
Land Division, is hiring for a Land Surveyor I. The position is based in Honolulu and under the direct supervision of the Land Surveyor V or the project surveyor, the Land Surveyor I will perform routine land surveying work and receive specific instructions in following well-established land surveying practices.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Using computer aided drafting design (CADD) and coordinate geometry (COGO) software for the preparation of sketches, worksheets and maps for acquisition, disposal and appraisal purposes.
- Making closures and area computations for simple parcel, Land Court and subdivision maps.
- Adjusting and computing simple triangulations and traverses and coordinate positions.
- Assisting in simple land title studies, researches and reports.

Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.
