The City of Bradbury is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented accounting professional interested in serving in a unique and multifaceted municipal position. Under the general administrative direction of the City Manager, the Accountant / City Clerk performs a broad range of accounting, financial recordkeeping, City Clerk, and administrative support responsibilities. Accounting is the primary focus of the position, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, deposits, financial reporting, oversight of outsourced payroll services, audit support, and maintenance of the City’s financial records.
The position also serves as the City Clerk and provides administrative support to the City Manager. Prior municipal experience is desirable, as the City is prepared to provide training in City Clerk responsibilities and municipal administrative procedures to a candidate with a strong accounting background, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to learn new functions. Because Bradbury operates with a small staff, the successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, protecting confidential information, handling varied responsibilities, and assisting with day-to-day City Hall operations.

The City of Bradbury
The City of Bradbury is a small, residential and equestrian-oriented community of approximately 1,000 residents nestled at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains below Angeles National Forest in Los Angeles County. Incorporated since July 26, 1957, the City is a true “contract city.” It has a small full-time staff and contracts for many of the services provided to its residents. The community encompasses 1.9 square miles, and includes 3.2 miles of public streets and roads. Bradbury is bordered on the west by the City of Monrovia and on the south and east by the City of Duarte. The City also includes the gated communities of the Bradbury Estates, BradOaks Estates, and non-gated areas. Much of the City is zoned for agriculture and maintains open space in the foothills through two- and five-acre minimums. All areas of the City enjoy quiet residential streets which preserve the rural feeling that led to the City's founding. It is a General Law City operating under the City Council/City Manager form of government, and the City Manager oversees all city functions.
The City Council strives to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to its residents.
