The Department of Adult & Juvenile Detention (DAJD) is seeking an experienced Human Resource professional to join the team as a Human Resource Analyst! This role will support employees as well as advise senior and executive level management on complex human resource issues, initiatives and policies, as well as manage complex work and leave programs. While the primary focus of the Human Resource Analyst role is leave management, responsibilities may also include broader HR tasks as needed, such as recruiting, employee engagement, labor relations, and more.

This recruitment will create an eligibility list which may be used to fill future Career Service, Term Limited Temporary or Special Duty Assignment Talent Acquisition Specialist (HR Analyst) vacancies within the next 12 months.

- Engage with and support employees, department managers and supervisors by providing guidance and interpretation of employment law and human resource practices.

- Process employee leaves and facilitate the interactive process, including the processing of employee's return to work, collaborating with King County Safety and Claims and Disability Services, as well as other agencies on leave management issues, including but not limited to, coordinating reasonable accommodations and ensuring ADA compliance.
- Create and implement department programs that support County-wide initiatives; including equity and social justice, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and employee development.
- Serveasthedepartmentrepresentativeinhearings,arbitrationsandlitigation.
- Assigned other duties within the scope and level of responsibility.
- Have a strong grounding in daily human resource functions with a proven track record of successfully managing leave programs, developing and implementing strategic initiatives and policies OR any combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the scope of the job duties;
- Have a track record of advising senior and executive-level management on complex human resource issues, initiatives and policies;
- Have experience managing complex work and leave programs;
- Be able to provide excellent customer service and guidance on human resource policies, initiatives and programs;
- Be efficiency-focused with an emphasis on the ability to multi-task, successfully manage competing and demanding tasks and communicate with clarity.

UNIONMEMBERSHIP: This position is represented by Teamsters Local 117, Professional, Technical and Administration (P/T/A) bargaining unit.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position will work a 40-hour work week and is overtime eligible(provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act). Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
WORK LOCATION: WORK LOCATION: The work associated with this position will be performed through a hybrid work model that will require both onsite and remote work. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is
subject to change.
The primary onsite work location for this position is the King County Courthouse at 516 3rd Avenue, E 245, Seattle WA 98104. However, candidates must be willing and able to report to work at different secured detention facilities in Seattle and Kent.
Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and, when working remotely, must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
