Pima County Department of Transportation seeks an experienced and motivated Public Works Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing our pavement marking and signing teams within the Planning and Engineering Division. The ideal candidate will have maintenance and/or construction management experience and a passion for operational excellence.
This position will work 4, 10-hour shifts, Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, Business Administration, Urban and Regional Planning or a closely-related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND three (3) years of professional experience managing public works programs. (Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)
OR:
Three (3) years with Pima County in a Public Works Supervisor II or closely-related position a determined by the department head at the time of recruitment INCLUDING one (1) year of supervision experience.
OR:
Four (4) years with Pima County as a Public Works Supervisor I or closely-related position as determined by the Department at the time of recruitment including one (1) year of supervision experience.
Preferred Qualifications: (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies, specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):
- Supervisor/managerial experience related to construction/maintenance.
- Experience with the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signs and pavement markings.
- Experience preparing and administering services contracts and material equipment purchases.
- Experience with/knowledge of Microsoft Office, GIS/mapping systems, asset management platforms (i.e Maximo), and field inventory databases (e.g., Desktop Sign Editor, Cartegraph, etc.)
- Experience with/knowledge of evaluating public requests and providing written and/or verbal responses to various constituents.
- Experience with/knowledge of analyzing current processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall quality.
- Experience with/knowledge of budgeting and financial planning.
Pay Range:
Hiring Range: $73,189 - $87,827 Annually
Full Range: $73,189 - $102,465 Annually
Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.
