The Position
RETIREMENT
CalPERS 3.0% @ 55 (Classic Members) or CalPERS 2.7% @ 57 (New members). The employee pays the full employee portion of the retirement contribution, and the City does not participate in Social Security.
All employees will contribute the equivalent of $125 per month to offset CalPERS Unfunded Accrued Liability costs. The employee contributions made pursuant to this Employee CalPERS Response Giveback Plan will be coordinated as a pre-tax contribution. Lastly, the employee contributions made pursuant to this Employee CalPERS Response Giveback Plan will be considered part of the employee contribution towards CalPERS retirement system costs.
HEALTH, WELFARE, & SAVINGS
The City offers a cafeteria benefit allowance of $1,190 / month for use towards enrolling in any of the City offered health, dental, and vision plans. Any employee that wishes to cash out their cafeteria allowance shall receive 25% of the allowance as taxable income or deferred compensation.
Deferred Compensation
Monthly Contribution of $100/month to Nationwide 457 plan; employee may make additional contributions based on IRS Regulations.
VACATION LEAVE
215 hours of annual vacation accrual, increasing up to 350 hours based on years of service
SICK LEAVE
Accrued at 8 hours per month, with an unlimited accrual
POST CERTIFICATE PAY
Intermediate - $350/month
Advanced - $750/month
Supervisory - $850/month
Management - $975/month
TUITION REIMBURSEMENT & ANNUAL EDUCATION BONUS
Tuition reimbursement is available upon completion of probationary period. Additionally, completion of a degree entitles employee to an annual bonus:
AA: $225 / year
BA: $375 / year
MA: $525 / year
Ph.D.: $675 / year
